Q: What’s the difference between a 240Ltr wheel bin and a 140Ltr wheel bin?
A: A 240Ltr bin will hold approximately three standard size refuse bags of waste, a 140Ltr bin will hold approximately two standard size refuse bags of waste.
Q: What can I put in my recycle bin?
A: This bin is for clean cardboard, paper, tin/aluminium cans, catalogues, plastic bottles; drink cans, mixed paper, newspaper and magazines.
Q: What can I put in my compost bin?
A: This bin is for egg shells, bread, cereal products, teabags, coffee, filters, kithen paper, napkins, fruit and vegetables, cooked food, dairy products.
Q: What happens if my bin gets damaged?
A: Contact our wheel bin department on 042 9377167 or gerry@aceenvironmental.ie and report the damage and arrangements will be made to either fix or replace the bin.
Q: Can I choose the day my Direct Debit is taken out?
A: No, our direct debits are requested on the 1st working day of each month.
Q: How do I close my account with Ace Environmental?
A: A contract can be terminated by giving at least 30 days written notification either by email or letter.
Q: Do I have to give back the bins if I close my account?
A: Yes, the bins provided to you remain the property of Ace Environmental.
Q: What happens if my bin is misplaced or stolen?
A: We recommend you look around your area as most of the bins reported stolen have usually been misplaced after collection. However, if you are positive that your bin was stolen contact us and we will ensure the chip on your bin is blocked (therefore our vehicle cannot lift that bin if it is presented for collection).
Q: Where should I leave my bin for collection?
A: We would ask for bins to be left outside your premises on the kerbside or adjacent to the roadway where they are clearly visible to our operatives. Bins will be returned to your presentation point.
Q: Why was my wheel bin not emptied?
A: If you bin was not emptied, please check if:
- The correct bin is out for collection
- The correct items were placed into your wheel bins, was your recycling bin contaminated? Was there any clinical or hazardous waste in your general waste bin?
- Is your account in credit?
- Is your bin out on the correct collection day and out before 6AM
Skip Hire FAQ’s
Q: How long can I have the skip for?
A: Skips are generally for hire for 2 days during the week or Friday to Monday over the weekend, if you need a skip for longer contact the office and we’ll try to accommodate you.
Q: How can I pay for the skip?
A: Skips can be paid for online, or if booking through the office they can be paid over the phone by credit/debit card or cash on delivery. Cheques are not accepted.
Q: What cannot go into the skip?
A: We do not accept fridges, freezers, paint tins, tyres, asbestos, batteries, gas cylinders or any hazardous waste.
Q: How much can I put into the skip?
A: The maximum level that the skip is to be filled is 1ft above the level of the skip or if the skip contains soil or stones it must only be filled to level load.
Q: Can I put a skip on the street?
A: Yes, in certain areas in built up areas you will need a street permit from the local council. Skips are not allowed on the street overnight.
